What is it about these amazing creatures that attract us? It has to be more than their playful antics and their obvious intelligence? Why do hundreds, probably thousands of us spend money to swim alongside these graceful animals?
Stories come back to us of their human-like qualities. It’s said many times by those who have had the privilege to swim with dolphins that they appear to actually understand us. That they are conscious of us and indeed have the ability to recognise our faces, our voices even. It’s almost as if there is a connection. Could that be near to the truth? Are dolphins our long lost brothers and sisters? Are we actually closer to the dolphin than the apes?
Don’t forget, we supposedly come from the sea too (although you wouldn’t think so the way I swim). Could dolphins be the lost link? A link lost to us but maybe, just maybe, not to them.
