Danger, danger...

There’s no doubt about it, walking along the highways and bye-ways of our Towns, Cities and Villages has become a dangerous business. Like someone once said, ‘like walking through a minefield’. Let’s have a look at that statement. Is it really that bad? Let’s see. Let’s take a simple trip from our front door to the shops that let’s say are what...half a mile away?
OK so you’ve walked out of the door and off of your own property and you are on the pavement (or as our American friends say, the sidewalk,) which is where you meet your first hazard. The uneven state of the sidewalk. Walk carefully, eyes to the ground and watch out for that crack...too late. One nicely twisted ankle. OK, Let’s limp on we've got to get to the shop before it closes. Oh look there’s that nice Mr Smith taking his per Rottweiler out for a walk. Here boy. Morning Mr Smi-...grrr...aah. That was my favourite pair of pants. And what’s that warm, wet feeling seeping through my...Never mind. Onward and upwards. Surely nothing else can go wrong.
Today is a really nice day weather wise. Last night it rained. It was torrential but thankfully today the sun is slowly but surely drying everything out. Just one or two deep puddles by the side of the road. Don’t worry, I know, with my kind of luck I could drown, so I’m staying well away. If only these passing cars would do the same and give these mini-lakes a wide berth. Much closer and an innocent passerby could easy find themselves drenched by the-aaagh. OK, that's it. Time for the injury claims
